Party's Server Crashed ... Again

Apologies for the lack of posts recent. Been busy with Badminton, GRE and other non-poker related activities. Started playing tonight and quickly lost a couple buy-ins. Finally make one back with AKs vs. JJ then the servers crashed. I will be very angry if my stack gets blinded off. Hopefully I just get picked up from the table, but who knows.

I've been trying for the past 30 min to get back into party or even onto it's website to check my balance... which is not quite as big as it used to be, but still, not to bad. No luck. It crashes at 9 AM EST, I'd hate to imagine the fallout if it crashed at night. Still just annoying as hell.

I'd consider switching to other sites, but considering the pain that it took for me to even just get my silly party account funded (I have a US address, but am in Taiwan with a Taiwan IP address). Multiple calls to India... er I mean, the US and Party Poker's security staff, and I finally was able to fund my account via credit card. I don't have a neteller account (they gave me even more grief), but I figure I just won't cash out until I get home and can set one up.

Anyways, the Thomas Uber Cup (badminton) is on ESPN here, I'm off to watch and try to get back into party.

Goodluck at the tables.

Bloggers Convention

So yesterday I had a few minutes before I had to head to work, so I log onto Party, just to watch some of the higher limit tables and dream. By force of habit I open my buddy list and find that Pauly and StinkyPants are playing, not only are they both online, but both at the same table. I head over and say hi, watch an orbit then have to leave for work. Makes me wish I could be playing then, but then again I think we all wish we could play at work.

On the personal poker front, nothing too exciting. Still hitting the $25 NL table at Party. Last night, I started off down a buy-in, then ended up winning that back limping in with KJo and hitting a KJJ flop. Then I double up after limping again with QJs in mid-position, but it got folded around to the blinds, and I had the button. The flop came out ATQ, and I was worried, but it was checked to me, so I pushed 2 dollars with my middle pair. A Jack came on the turn and I was ready to bail, but my earlier bet had bought me a free card, so I was able to check it through. I had 4 outs which would most likely give me the nuts on the river, and a beautiful Q came. The SB raised All-in and the button followed suit. They had both made straights on the turn with their Ks and checked it through to me. It was a very nice pot, and a few hands later I hit my limit of 100 hands for the evening and went to bed.

busy, busy, busy

First a thanks to Pauly and phriedom I decided to keep at NL. I've only been able to play a few times this week due to work keeping me busy, but I'm regaining my lost confidence. Last night, I played against a very fish player, watched him lose his stack while UTG with 69s. I unfortunately didn't get a piece of his action, but after he left, I immediately did a search for where he ran off too. Get this, he went a step up to the $50 NL tables. Not a place I usually play, but there happened to be a seat 2 players after him, so I took it. I played ultra tight, because I had never played this level before and was honestly afraid, but I wanted the fish's money =P

I hung around for 20 mins, and watched the fish lose half his stack on bonehead plays. I picked up JJ in late position and raise up a group of limpers (including the fish) to 4 dollars, I get the fish and another caller. The flop comes JTT and I've hit the house. The only other bigger hand would be quad Tens, and well, the fish didn't raise pre-flop, so I only have to worry about the other guy. He checks, then the fish raises 10. I re-raise to put him all in. He calls, the turn and river are blanks, he turns over a T8o, and immediately leaves. I hang around until the blinds and watch as 3 other people leave to go chase him down too =P
